Fairtrade Foundation
A fair deal for third-world producers
The Fairtrade Foundation is the independent, non-profit organisation that licenses use of the FAIRTRADE Mark on products in the UK. Their aim is to achieve greater equity in international trade.
"The Foundation's original website was lacking in functionality, navigability and a design that projected the brand" says dotMailer's Head of Project Delivery, Michael Duxbury.

An overhaul was needed - and not just in terms of design and navigation. The Fairtrade Foundation needed a lot of bespoke site functionality built and they needed a Content Management System that would integrate seemlessly with this new functionality"
A fully database driven Product Search allows visitors to the new site to search by 29 product categories to find the Fairtrade accredited products they want. The new website enables online registration and accreditation for schools wanting to join the Fairtrade Schools Scheme, and includes Web 2.0 features, such as Google Map integration.
The Fairtrade Foundation's new site launched in February 2008 to coincide with the launch of Fairtrade Fortnight, and saw record traffic. The last word goes to Dave Ivy: "The new site has powerful functionality, intuitive navigation and brand-enhancing design. I'm confident that it will enhance and improve Fairtrade's online presence and success".
